Basics

What is the AI Pronunciation Trainer?

It’s a browser-based practice tool that plays short phrases in your target language, then records you and gives instant feedback. You can practice single words for precision or full sentences for rhythm and flow.

Do I need to install an app?

No. The trainer runs directly in your browser. Just open the trainer page, allow microphone access, and start practicing.

Which languages are supported?

The trainer currently supports 50+ languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and others. More languages and phrase sets are planned over time.

Using the trainer

How do I start a practice session?

On the trainer page, choose your target language, tap a practice button (for example, “Random ×5”), listen to the model audio, then speak clearly when the status shows Recording….

What’s the difference between Words and Sentences?

Words mode focuses on single words in tight groups so you can isolate tricky sounds. Sentences mode uses short phrases and multiple rounds so you can work on rhythm, stress, and intonation.

How many rounds should I do per day?

For most learners, 10–15 minutes is enough to see progress. That might be 2–3 batches of sentences or several word groups. Consistency matters more than long marathon sessions.

Scoring & progress

How is my score calculated?

Your speech is compared to the reference audio using an AI speech model. The score reflects how well you match the sounds, timing, and words of the target phrase.

What is a “perfect” score?

A perfect score (100%) means your recording matches the reference very closely. When you complete a set with a perfect average, the trainer celebrates with confetti and marks that item as “mastered”.

Where is my progress stored?

Your progress is stored locally in your browser using local storage. If you change devices or clear your browser data, your local progress may reset.

Devices, microphones & Bluetooth

Can I use Bluetooth earphones?

Yes. Many learners prefer Bluetooth so they can hear subtle sound differences more clearly. If your headset forces “call mode” and you see “call ended” popups, open the trainer settings and choose the phone’s internal microphone while leaving audio on your headset.

What if the microphone is too quiet or too loud?

Try speaking across the mic instead of directly into it, and keep the device about 6–12 inches away. Avoid covering the mic with your hand or case, and reduce background noise when possible.

Does it work on phones, tablets, and laptops?

Yes. The trainer is designed for modern browsers on phones, tablets, and computers. For the best experience, use the latest version of Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox.

Privacy & data

Is my voice data stored?

Your recordings are processed to generate scores and diagnostics, but are not permanently stored or sold as a product. Progress is kept locally in your browser, not on a public leaderboard.

Do you use cookies or analytics?

Some pages use Google Analytics and Google AdSense to understand usage and display ads. These services may set cookies or similar identifiers. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.

Troubleshooting

I don’t hear any audio.

Check your device volume, verify that your browser tab is not muted, and make sure your audio output device (speakers or headphones) is selected correctly in your system settings.

My browser says the mic is blocked.

Look for a small camera/mic icon in your browser address bar. Click it and allow microphone access for thelanguagechannel.com, then reload the page.

The scores seem inconsistent.

Very noisy rooms, extremely fast speech, or talking before the model audio finishes can reduce consistency. Try a quieter space, speak after the prompt finishes, and repeat each phrase at a natural pace.
