CEFR Level A2 – Elementary
A2 is still basic, but learners can manage short, routine exchanges in familiar situations.
What a learner can usually do at A2
- talk in simple terms about family, work and hobbies
- understand short, clear messages and announcements
- handle simple shopping and travel situations
- describe in simple words their background and needs

Here are a few short German sentences that match the general difficulty of level A2.
- Ich brauche mehr Zeit
- Ich habe viel Arbeit
- Ich kaufe ein Ticket
- Ich suche ein Zimmer
- Ich besuche meine Freunde
